More Information & Itinerary
This half day tour will take you to higher elevation birding around Ojai and further up to Pine Mountain and points beyond! We will spend our time seeking out some of the harder to find montane species that inhabit Ventura County including Mountain Quail, White-headed Woodpecker, and the adorable Mountain Chickadee. Along the way we’ll stop at several hotspots looking for seasonal visitors like Black-chinned and Calliope Hummingbirds, Western Tanagers, Scott’s Oriole, and Hermit Warbler.
Cost: $500 for up to 6 people
Location: Ojai, Pine Mountain, Mt. Pinos
Transportation: Caravaning
Included: Park fees, parking, or day use passes. Scope, loaner binoculars, ebird lists.
Meals: Not included. Participants are encouraged to bring snacks.

Frank the Bird Guy
Frank is an avid birdwatcher whose passion for birds has led him to serve on the board of both Ventura Audubon Society and Conejo Valley Audubon Society where he is currently President. He is the owner of the Wild Birds Unlimited store in Ventura as well as the coordinator and compiler for the Ventura Christmas Bird Count. During the pandemic, Frank began offering bird education classes online as “Frank the Bird Guy” and has shared the joy of birds with thousands worldwide.
