Markus Weilmeier
I am an avid birder, living in the Okanagan Valley, with 5+ years of experience searching for birds in my area. My interest was piqued in early 2020 (at the height of COVID-19), when my dad and I started keeping track of the birds we were spotting. Since then, I have led a variety of bird walks and outings for local clubs, and have conducted several volunteer-run surveys for Birds Canada. I recently graduated from UBCO with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and a major in Zoology. Wildlife photography has become a strong interest of mine, and I always enjoy looking for good photo opportunities. My goal is to help educate people about birds they might not know about and emphasize the importance of our unique Okanagan ecosystems, as well as fostering a general interest in birding activities.
