Rails, Crakes, Coots

Rallidae is a large and diverse family of birds found worldwide, inhabiting a variety of wetland and terrestrial habitats. They are characterized by their slender bodies, long legs, and often short tails. Rails, crakes, and gallinules are generally secretive and difficult to observe, often preferring dense vegetation and reedbeds. They are omnivorous, feeding on insects, seeds, aquatic plants, and small animals.
