New World Vultures

Cathartidae are a family of scavenging birds of prey found in the Americas. They are characterized by their bald heads and necks, which are adaptations for feeding on carrion. These birds are excellent soarers, using thermals to effortlessly cover vast distances in search of food. New World vultures play a crucial role in their ecosystems by cleaning up carcasses.
