Limpkin

Limpkins are large, wading birds found in freshwater wetlands of the southeastern United States, Central and South America. They are characterized by their long legs, long necks, and slightly decurved bills, which they use to probe for snails, their primary food source. Limpkins are often noisy birds, emitting loud, piercing calls. They build floating nests in shallow water vegetation.
