Michael Klotz – The Bird Blogger

Michael lives in Langley, BC, where he works to support his passion for birding. British Columbia’s diverse ecosystems make it one of North America’s top birding destinations, and the Greater Vancouver area boasts an impressive variety of species. His birding adventures have taken him across North and Central America, the Caribbean, and even Africa, with over 1300 species on his life list. Inspired by his grandfather, Michael started birding at age eight and became more serious about it while studying in Santa Barbara. Photography became a natural extension of his birding, helping him capture and identify species more easily. Michael aims to share his love for birds and promote conservation by protecting key habitats worldwide.

  1. K.C.

Just finished a full day tour in Metro Vancouver with Mike on 19 Oct. Thoroughly enjoyed the day. Mike tailored a relaxed trip for us according to our needs and interests. Though rainly, we still managed to see plenty! of shorebirds, ducks, seabirds and forest species.
Highly recommend Mike as a guide. You can feel his passion for birds. More importantly, he is the kind of fellow birders with whom we love to spend more time birding together.
