  • Andrew Boycott - Culture Nature Wildlife Photography

    • As a lifelong wildlife and nature lover it's no surprise that Andrew fell headfirst into birding and listing after finding one of the first rare Loggerhead Shrikes in BC history. Quickly, obsession became passion and then expertise. Andrew joined an elite group becoming a two time Crow Award winner for posting over 250 species spotted in Vancouver in a calendar year including posting the third highest eBird confirmed year list in Vancouver history with 267 species. Now Andrew has moved to Vancouver island and is enjoying the tremendous diversity of species and habitats the island has to offer, uncovering all the hidden gems. These special locations are filled with the beautiful species unique to the Pacific Coast.

    • I have a bachelor's degree in Alternative Tourism and have worked on various projects with biologists, monitoring different areas of the Yucatán Peninsula. For my thesis, I focused on recognizing the diversity of species in my Mayan community. I have also volunteered to teach children about the importance of birds. Now, I run my own birding agency, where I work alongside other guides when I’m unavailable. My goal is to support local Mayan guides like myself and create exceptional birding experiences rooted in local knowledge.

  • Ezekiel Jakub

    • Ezekiel “Zeke” grew up in rural western Massachusetts and was introduced to birdwatching at the age of 6 by his paternal Grandfather, Grandpa George. Becoming obsessed with birds throughout his childhood and an “American Birding Association” youth birder, Zeke was active in local, regional, national and international birding opportunities for kids. With his growing obsession, Zeke easily wandered into the world of Ornithology, publishing his first paper on corvid bioacoustics when he was a Junior in high school through the Intel International science fair competition. Zeke continued his undergraduate and graduate work focused on conservation, ornithology, and geography/GIS in neotropical Americas, specifically Central America. While working on his graduate studies, Zeke met his wife, and Jaguar Biologist, Melva Olmos at the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute on Barro Colorado Island and the rest as they say … “is history”. Zeke and Melva have dedicated their lives to scientific research, conservation actions and community development throughout some of Panama’s most rural and remote regions. Zeke is a dual-citizen of Panama and has lived permanently in Panama since 2011. His home, Finca Radagast, is in Coclé province at 400m where he and his wife spend most of their free time.

  • Luis Gonzalez

    • Born and raised in Cuba, Luis has been an avid naturalist - with complementary passions for birds and dinosaurs - from a young age. After moving to the U.S., he attended Doral Academy High School, where he excelled in the sciences and also took up birding. He has been looking up ever since. Luis now holds a Master’s degree in IT from Florida International University. Luis’s early fascination with herons, egrets, and other South Florida wading birds soon blossomed into a broader interest that includes New World warblers, woodpeckers, and ducks. He only regrets not starting birding sooner - but he’s making up for it by aiming to bird all seven continents. Luis has guided birding tours not only across North America, but also in South America, Africa, and Asia. An avid eBirder, he keeps detailed records of his sightings, photographs as many species as possible, and encourages others to do the same. If you encounter him in the field, he may want to join you—because Luis believes the birding is always better with an extra pair of binoculars!
  • Mark Korducki

    • I began birding at the age of five after my Dad gave me a Peterson Field Guide. I absorbed this book like a sponge and began identifying birds in the yard and while out in the field on family fishing trips. This interest continued throughout my life and now, 50 years later, I have decided to start my own tour company to share my love of birding and travel with others. I have led tours for 2 other companies and have enjoyed finding life birds for a number of fun and passionate birders. My goal is to show target birds to small groups or individuals and to provide a fun and relaxed tour experience. I have worked as a Physical Therapist for the past three decades but have stayed very active in the birding community. I have done some local guiding and have led tours throughout the United States. I have been an active volunteer in the Wisconsin Society for Ornithology (WSO) for many years. I was the long time voice of the WSO rare bird hotline and I served on the Records Committee for 20 years. Currently, I serve as the Wisconsin Coordinator for the Breeding Bird Survey which is run by the United States Geological Survey. My field work includes the Wisconsin Breeding Bird Atlas, Christmas Bird Counts and May Counts, and running my own Breeding Bird Survey route since 1996. I am very passionate about bird field work and conservation. I look forward to seeing you on
  • Markus Weilmeier

    • I am an avid birder, living in the Okanagan Valley, with 5+ years of experience searching for birds in my area. My interest was piqued in early 2020 (at the height of COVID-19), when my dad and I started keeping track of the birds we were spotting. Since then, I have led a variety of bird walks and outings for local clubs, and have conducted several volunteer-run surveys for Birds Canada. I recently graduated from UBCO with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and a major in Zoology. Wildlife photography has become a strong interest of mine, and I always enjoy looking for good photo opportunities. My goal is to help educate people about birds they might not know about and emphasize the importance of our unique Okanagan ecosystems, as well as fostering a general interest in birding activities.
